How we can help with

Private Wealth Management

What is it?

Our job is to ensure your private wealth is better managed and that you can do what you can to protect your lifestyle as much as possible. Our clients tend to have over £300,000 in investible assets and we recognise that with greater levels of wealth it often comes with greater complexity.

This could be because:

  • you have multiple sources of income including rental property

  • you expect to receive an inheritance

  • you are part of a blended family

  • you have business interests

  • you’re internationally mobile

  • you’ve utilised your conventional tax wrappers such as pensions and ISAs

  • You’re approaching retirement and you now need to carefully consider how to take your pension benefits.

Private Wealth Management looks at your overall circumstances and where necessary brings together a multi-disciplinary team across legal, accounting, tax, and regulated wealth management to ensure any solutions complement one another.

Why is it important?

Our clients often require a multidisciplinary approach to ensure various aspects of professional advice complement one another. This is a significant challenge for individuals who have built wealth but have received some advice from an accountant, another bit of advice from their financial adviser and yet another piece of advice from a solicitor.

Private Client Wealth Management recognises the need for a collaborative approach and what needs to come first to ensure you as a client remain compliant with statutory laws and regulations whilst minimising future disruption.

The risks associated with a non-collaborative approach could include:

  • Restrictions on later succession planning

  • Unintended tax consequences

  • Disruption to lifestyle to unwind original planning

  • Reduced tax efficiency on investment holdings

  • Investment holdings following the same investment strategy when in fact it should be different

Getting this right sooner, will maximise your chances of retaining wealth, avoid tax investigations, improve your lifestyle protection, optimise your retirement planning and optimise your succession plans.

How we Help?

We think long-term and we expect our clients to think long-term too. Our role isn’t to grow your wealth through high-performing investments. Our role is to structure your affairs optimally that will give you the best possible chance to retain wealth without taking entrepreneurial risk.

Unless it’s inherited wealth, you are already excellent at generating wealth. You don’t have a problem with that. Your problem is wealth protection, succession, and strategic management over and above holding it in cash.

We listen to your requirements carefully and explore your circumstances closely, and if it’s something we feel we can deliver we will do so. We do not invest in non-mainstream investments and nor do we take a speculative approach. Having said that, once you’re part of our ecosystem, clients may benefit from the fantastic experienced characters who we also have a privilege to look after during client events.

We directly get involved in:

  • Financial Planning

  • Investment Management

  • Succession Planning

  • Project managing tax reporting, planning and implementation of any solutions

ADL has been a delight to work with. Extremely knowledgeable about the subject of IHT, but also how this technically fits into the bigger picture and wider wealth planning.
